Let's celebrate family, forests, snow, and fun, all in one afternoon!
Join us on February 18th for a FABulous Family Day Event at Landon Bay. The best way to spend time with your family is outside and this event has a lot of that to offer and.....it is entirely FREE!
Have you ever tried snowshoes? Why not? Strap on a pair to explore the Park or join a Guided Winter Wander through the forests of Landon Bay, with Jack Henry. Jack is a passionate Outdoor Enthusiast and an expert in the Field of Forestry. He will mentor you in the ways of listening to the forest and Winter Tree ID.
*Please note that we have a limited supply of snowshoes and most are for children. If you have your own, feel free to bring them!
Winter is not only a great time for snowshoeing but for winter games and tobogganing. Build your own cardboard toboggan at home from recycled boxes or bring a box to the camp and get some tips and tricks from our Nature Camp Crew. If you want some ideas for your own creation, check out this link and get inspired. There will be a prize, for the fastest sled and for the most eco friendly sled, at the Park! Supplies will be limited, so if you have bought a big item lately and it came in a box, feel free to donate it!
We welcome you to bring your own cross country skis and try out a freshly cut cross country ski trail - have your time taken and you will be entered into a draw for another great prize!
This is a "By Donation Event" and all money raised will go to the growth of our FAB Nature Camps Programs and bringing you events like this, all year long.
PRE Registration is required. You can register on our website at www.frontenacarchbiosphere.ca. If you are experiencing any difficulties or have questions, please contact Kelly McGann at kelly@fabn.ca.
This event is brought to you in partnership with: FAB Nature Camps, Parks Canada, and the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands.
