Course Description:
In this course students will develop knowledge and skills necessary to perform the functions of a
public information officer. The course emphasizes effective writing skills, media dissemination,
and monitoring skills. Students will benefit from the enhancement of interview skills and learning
about the development, maintenance, and strengthening of relationships with community
groups. This course will also cover formatting of media releases.

the course. Students that arrive unprepared or do not bring the required items will not be eligible
to attend.
