FAB Nature Camps Presents Christmas Bird Count for Kids at Landon Bay on December 21st.
Guides will be showing participants how to identify local bird life, use binoculars, and keep track of what they see and hear. Guides will then lead participants outside to find and count birds. A minimum of two trails will be offered and one will be more accessible. We encourage participants with young children to bring toboggans and enjoy the snow (fingers crossed we have some!). After our adventures together, our young Citizen Scientists will join us by the campfire to share stories and enjoy some warm, sweet treats. The data we collected will be gathered and submitted to Bird Studies Canada, used for research and conservation of our winged friends.
Landons Bay is part of the Thousand Islands National Park, managed by Parks Canada. The FAB Nature Camp at Landons Bay is excited to organize this event and we would like to remind participants that the site has a plowed entrance and parking area. Trails are not plowed and the property is "use at your own risk". We look forward to seeing you out there!
