The Canada Day Committee and Seeley’s Bay Area Residents' Association are in the process of planning for this year’s Canada Day celebrations with the assistance of several dedicated volunteers. We especially appreciate the guidance and support of Karen Simpson and Peter Gard who have been the faces of Canada Day for many years.
The festivities will get underway with a morning ecumenical church service (TBD). The canteen will open at noon and starting at 1:00 there will be children’s activities, a volleyball tournament and pickleball/tennis demonstration. There will be something for everyone including a vendor’s area selling all sorts of things you didn’t know you needed.
The parade will get underway at 4:00 and the Opening Ceremonies will be immediately following the parade at around 5:00. No need to cook as you can enjoy dinner from the canteen or a chicken BBQ from Legion Branch 491. For your listening and dancing pleasure, local band, Backlash will be performing in the park. Of course, Canada Day would not be complete without fireworks which will get underway at dusk.
Please note that all events are pending and are dependent on SBARA being able to secure the insurance and TLTI permits. For further information please contact Monique at monique.a.hartley@gmail.com or Jan at holland@bell.net.
As always, volunteers will be needed so please watch for opportunities to give back to the community.
Watch for details in the flyer and on social media closer to the date and see you all on July 1st in the Park
